Every mission comes with it’s own unique objectives, from recovering intel to rescuing hostages or escorting convoys. Every decision that players make on the path to their objective actively shifts three persistent dials: Local Trust, Insurgent Activity, and Command Confidence. Stopping to help a wounded civilian might boost Local Trust, but it breaks your strict timeline to achieve the mission, causing Command Confidence to plummet. Withdrawal from a firefight that was in a crowded market solves the immediate problem (don’t cause civilian casualties), but spikes Insurgent Activity for the next session!
